The AIDS Project of Central Iowa formally joined forces with Primary Health Care, Inc. (PHC), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and federally qualified community health center. The change took place, as planned, on January 1, 2013. The Project and PHC have been partnering for 20+ years to offer a broad array of services for Iowans at risk for and living with HIV. Now a full continuum of services from testing to treatment is available through one organization. Staff at both agencies have been working together to not only maintain, but expand, access to care, support, and prevention services. We will also continue to have a strong presence in the community by participating in fundraising and community events.
Through September of 2013, the combined programs and services will be offered from our two current Des Moines locations: The Project at 711 E. 2nd Street and Primary Health Care’s clinic at 2353 SE 14th Street. In the fall of 2013, we plan to locate all programs and services into one central location. If you have questions regarding the merger and what it means for you or suggestions for how we can improve services in the future, please contact one of the following staff by email or phone at 284-0245.
The Project of Primary Health Care looks forward to continued collaborations with the entire HIV community!
